Chapter 12:

In the train, Ruka is talking to his mom, who called to tell him about Occhan.  When he says he knows, she demands to know why he didn't go home, but he tells her he's going to see Occhan, then cuts her off.  He thinks about Fuuko as the train pulls into the next station, and is astonished when she walks in the door with Choro, dirty, tired, and looking angry.  She walks up to him and tells him, with a deadly gleam in her eye, not to underestimate her, then walks off and sits down.  In her chair, Fuuko is sad because Ruka left her, and she remembers how Occhan told her to keep hold of Ruka, thinking sadly that he won't let her.  She's very depressed about Ruka leaving her.  Ruka watches her with regret.

When they get to the mountain, it's quite cold, and Fuuko is glad she brought warm clothes.  They start climbing using their power, and have to hide when other climbers come near.  Fuuko blushes when she realizes how close Ruka is, and jumps away, thinking that she doesn't want to fall for him any more when he's said he just wants to be friends. 

Later, they have to cross an old, rickety bridge, and Ruka comments that if this were a movie, it would definitely break, and reminds Fuuko to make herself as light as possible.  In the middle, Ruka sees someone on the other side, and thinking it's Occhan, starts running towards it.  The bridge - of course- breaks, and Ruka falls off, caught by the heel at the last second by Fuuko, who catches hold of Choro as well.  When they safely get to the other side, they find that Ruka was chasing after a mountain goat.  Fuuko jokes that Ruka is really attached to his uncle, and Ruka tells her a story of when he was young, and his little brother (who got the power from Ruka) fell from a high place and was badly hurt, as well as his mother who stopped his fall.   His parents rushed his brother (Ruu) off to the hospital, and Ruka felt really alone and guilty.  He was worried that his parents wouldn't love him anymore because it was his fault Ruu got hurt, and was crying when his uncle arrived (young Occhan, pretty cute!^_^)  His uncle told him not to cry, and that it wasn't his fault, and of course his parents wouldn't hate him.  From that time, Ruka was especially fond of Occhan, and when he decided to live away from home and came to Occhan, he took him in without asking any questions. 

After telling the story, Ruka gets really worried again for Occhan and tears come to his eyes, and he asks Fuuko not to laugh, but when he looks up, she has tears in her eyes too.  She reminds him not to put on an act of being okay around her, and hugs him.  Then out of the pile of sleeping bags, who should fall out, all bundled up, but Occhan!  He said he was cold so he went in the pile, but he soon realized they had come, but he couldn't interrupt.  Ruka gets really mad because Occhan heard him talk about him, and for the first time in his life, punches someone, and Fuuko thinks that Occhan always interrupts her and Ruka at bad moments.

In the hospital, Occhan is talking with Fuuko while Ruka's outside with his parents.  When Ruka comes back in, Occhan drops a bomb - he built up some debts to pay for the hospital, so he had to take a big job, which means - he's moving to England!  He asks Ruka what he's going to do...
